Who am I?

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. I grew up here in Spokane; went to college in Southern California; studied abroad in Paris; went to grad school in upstate New York; and taught in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Illinois before having the opportunity to move home. I love giraffes (in general), word games (the NYT crossword puzzle, in particular), and parenthetical statements.

I'm a mother, a scientist, and a nacho connoisseur. I'm an excellent baker (and so humble!), a mediocre cake decorator, and a good cook. I enjoy running and swimming, but not biking. I'm a non-practicing oboist and the skip for Curl Jam. I'm a dedicated volunteer, working predominantly with the Junior League, but interested in expanding my portfolio to include more science outreach and engagement with our local government.
